Privacy Policy

The short version
InstaGivePicker is a small, independent tool for picking giveaway winners. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we never ask for your Instagram password. We use a standard set of analytics tools to understand how people use the site, and we accept payments through Ko-fi.
If you want any data we have about you deleted, email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
What we collect
When you visit: standard technical information about your session, the pages you view, your approximate region, and the device and browser you use. This is what every modern web app collects to function and to improve.
When you use the picker: the Instagram post URL you submit and basic information about your draw (number of entries loaded, filters used, the result). We retain this temporarily for service operation and debugging.
When you purchase: the email on your Ko-fi receipt, the amount and currency, and your Ko-fi transaction reference. We never see your card or PayPal credentials — those stay with PayPal and Ko-fi.
When you contact us: whatever you write in your email. Used to reply to you, never added to a marketing list (we don't have one).
What we don't collect
- Your Instagram username, password, or any account credentials.
- Any data about your followers, your DMs, or your private content.
- Persistent biometric or behavioral fingerprints beyond standard session identifiers.
Cookies and similar storage
We use two categories of browser storage:
Essential— storage required to keep the service working: remembering your theme preference, your consent choice, and operating the free tier fairly. These don't require consent.
Analytics — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. These help us see which features get used and where people get stuck. They're off by default and only enable if you click Accept on the small cookie card.
If you decline, Google Analytics continues to record anonymous aggregated signals through Google's Consent Mode — no cookies and nothing that ties back to you individually. Microsoft Clarity stays off entirely.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics 4 — web analytics. Google's privacy policy. You can install the GA opt-out add-on to block GA globally across every site.
- Microsoft Clarity — user behavior analytics. Microsoft's privacy statement.
- Ko-fi— payment processing and credit delivery. Ko-fi privacy policy.
- PayPal— card and bank processing through Ko-fi. PayPal privacy policy.
How long we keep things
- Service operation records: short-term, automatically removed after they're no longer needed.
- Purchase records: kept for accounting and so you can recover access to credits you paid for.
- Google Analytics data: per Google's default retention setting (currently 14 months).
- Microsoft Clarity data: per Microsoft's retention policy.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, UK, EEA, Switzerland, California, or anywhere else with privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Know what data we hold about you.
- Have it deleted.
- Decline analytics tracking (the Decline button on the cookie card, or your browser's privacy controls).
- Export your purchase history.
Email [email protected] for any of those. A real person replies.
Children
InstaGivePicker isn't aimed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe we have, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything substantive, the date at the top updates and the change is summarized at the bottom. We don't quietly broaden what we collect.
